About Grycon

Grycon is a State of Florida Licensed General Contracting and Construction Management firm. Their staff of employees has been assembled to take advantage of each individual's extensive experience in all facets of the construction process. Because of this experience, Grycon has the capability to propose any size project with the respect to General Contracting, and handle any and all needs that an Owner would require from pre-construction services to project turnover. Grycon will not limit their options to only General Contracting. Through the assembled experience at Grycon, they provide Consulting Services in the areas of Warranty, QA/QC, Legal Support, Claim Investigation, Preconstruction Estimating and Value Engineering, Project Management and other construction industry related areas.

The Problem

Grycon has a growing team leading many large-scale projects across the state. Their superintendents and project executives are tasked with managing multiple projects at once and thus have a high volume of documents to review on a regular basis. Contracts in particular are referenced nearly on a daily basis as questions and concerns arise. While Grycon had a contract review process in place before using Document Crunch, it was a very manual process which required the project executives to spend hours highlighting and flagging important elements in each contract. Once the initial review was completed, the team would then need to reference the contract frequently and this meant that the project executives would be flipping through the lengthy documents trying to find key information about subjects that might be dispersed throughout many parts of the contract. This led to inefficiencies and added a great deal of manual work to the project executives who were one of the few team members who had access to the contract documents and were therefore the only ones who could answer questions that arose on the jobsite.

Document Crunch’s Solution

When Grycon first heard about Document Crunch, it sounded like the perfect tech solution to automate many aspects of Grycon’s manual contract review process. The onboarding process was seamless and it wasn’t long before the Grycon team was crunching contracts through the platform. One particular Document Crunch feature that stands out for Grycon is the ability of the software to group items that belong to the same category under one section. This grouping feature makes it easy for the team to track key information that may be spread throughout the entire contract. 

The Results

Since using Document Crunch, the Grycon team has noticed a significant decrease in time per week spent on contract review—at least two to three hours per week, per project executive, the team estimates. And even while reviewing contracts, the automated process has made it much easier for team members to find the information they're looking for quickly. No longer are team members flipping through hundreds of pages of highlights and sticky notes trying to find a line item. Instead, with a few clicks of a button, team members can find what they’re looking for quickly and share that information with their coworkers—even those working in the field.
